The Schneeberg Refuge

The Schneeberg Refuge

The Schneeberg Refuge is located at 2,355 metres, in the heart of the former mining village of St. Martin on Schneeberg. Those who make their way up here will find hot food, cosy dining rooms, overnight accommodation and plenty of outdoor seating when the weather allows.

The refuge is run by Edeltraud and Raimund together with their daughters Lisa and Theresa. The family has many years of experience working in the mountains and in hospitality. Edeltraud and Raimund bring with them a strong background in the hotel sector, guest service and life as hut keepers. Lisa works in the kitchen as a cook and prepares traditional dishes, while Theresa, a student at the Upper Secondary School Centre in Mals with a focus on alpine skiing, also has a close connection to the mountain world.

The three heated dining rooms can seat around 100 people, with a large serviced outdoor area as well. Overnight guests can choose from 100 beds in shared rooms and dormitories. A drying room, boot dryers, hot water and hot food served throughout the day make the refuge an excellent starting point for hikes, guided tours and stays on Schneeberg.

Whether for a short stop, a meal after the climb or a night at altitude, the Schneeberg Refuge is part of the Schneeberg experience.
