What you should know for your museum visit
Reservations are obbligatory for guided tours!
Please follow the instructions given by our staff and note the signs.
Keep a distance of at least one metre to all other people in the museum who are not part of your family.
During your visit you need to put on a face mask that covers mouth and nose.
Please wash your hands regularly with soap for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom, and sanitize your hands with the disinfectant gel available on site.
Please try to avoid touching your face, especially not your mouth, nose and eyes.
When you cough or sneeze, use a disposable tissue and dispose of it immediately.
Please avoid crowds and only entre into a designated area when it is free.
Only use the elevator if strictly necessary and only entre it by yourself or with your family.
People showing symptoms of COVID (coughing, fever, difficulty breathing) will not be granted entry to the museum. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Clothing: For excursions in the galleries we recommend warm clothes and sturdy footwear. Rain coats and helmets, as well as other necessary gear are provided by the Museum.
Accessibility: Some of our locations and guided tours are barrier-free. You can find details under Important Information of each location.
Dogs in the Museum: Dogs are permitted in the outdoor areas, but not in the galleries and showrooms.
Museum shops: Our shops sell a wide range of minerals, jewellery made from minerals and mining souvenirs. As part of our sustainability project "One.Four.Seventeen.", many of the produfcts are made of sustainable material. Our expert sales staff will be pleased to help you.
