What you need to know for your visit in the Prettau mine

For a visit in the museum all persons age 12 and up will require a Green Pass (EU Digital COVID Certificate).
Green Passes are issued by the national health authority. 
Keep a distance of at least one metre from all people who don't live in your household
During your visit, please wear a face mask that covers mouth and nose. For children >6 years this is only recommended
Follow the staff's instructions and look out for signs and markings on the floor.
Please avoid crowds and only entre a designated area when it is free.
For the Climate gallery, the safety protocol 2021 is applied.
Please come to the location at least 20 minutes prior to your booked time slot.
Reservation necessary
Clothing: A warm jacket and sturdy footwear are required. Access to the climate gallery is only permitted wearing footwear that can be borrowed from the Mining Museum.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own footwear.

Eating and drinking: The “Ignazstube” restaurant in the Museum area is open during the Museum season: you are welcome to visit even if not visiting the Museum.
Museum shop: Our shop sells a wide range of minerals, jewellery made from minerals and mining souvenirs. Our expert multilingual sales staff will be pleased to help you.
Barrier-free Access: The external areal is barriere-free. Ghe "Gallery Adventure" guidet tour is partially barrier-free. Wheelcharis are available if required that will permit access to part of the show gallery.
Dogs in the Museum: Dogs are permitted in the outdoor area: they are not permitted in the galleries.

Getting here

By car: From the A22 autobahn take the Brixen/Bressanone exit, then follow the E66 towards Bruneck/Brunico, exit at Bruneck/Brunico North and from there take the SS621 towards Ahrntal/Valle Aurina to Prettau, Hörmanngasse 38/A. Free car and coach parking is available by the Museum entrance area.
Rail/bus: Take the train to Bruneck/Brunico then, from Bruneck/Brunico railway or bus station take bus no. 450 for the Ahrntal Valley to Prettau. Get off at the second to last stop (Bergwerk) by the Museum car park. Connections every 30 minutes.
Plane: The nearest airports are Innsbruck (140 km) and Verona (260 km).
Bike: From Bruneck take the cycle way to Sand in Taufers, then follow the SS621 to Prettau.
