What you need to know for you visit in Ridnaun

Reservation necessary!
Please come to the location at least 15 minutes prior to your booked time slot.
Clothing: We recommend warm clothes and sturdy footwear. Rain coats and helmets will be provided by the museum.
Follow the staff's instructions and look out for signs and markings on the floor.
Accessibility: The permanent exhibition is barrier-free. Only some tours are accessible and only in part.
Dogs in the Museum: Dogs are permitted in the outdoor area, but not in the galleries and exhibition rooms. 
Museum shop: Our shop sells a wide range of minerals, jewellery made from minerals and mining souvenirs. As part of our sustainability project "One.Four.Seventeen.", many of the products are made of sustainable material. Our expert sales staff will be pleased to help you.
Eating & drinking: The Restaurant Knappenstube in the Museum area is open during the Museum season. You are welcome to visit even if not visiting the Museum. 

Getting here

Rail/bus: Take the train to Sterzing/Vipiteno then, from the Sterzing station or Nordpark, take bus no. 312 to Ridnaun. Get off at the last stop (Bergbaumuseum) by the Museum car park.
Bike: From Sterzing take the main road 16 km up to the end of the Ridnauntal Valley in Maiern.
By car: From the A22 autobahn take the Sterzing/Vipiteno exit, then drive 16 km up the road to Ridnaun, Maiern 48. Free car and coach parking is available by the Museum entrance area.
Plane: The nearest airports are Innsbruck (70 km) and Verona ( 230 km).
