Mining People
Steinhaus was the administrative centre for mining in the Ahrntal Valley. The grain store, constructed in 1700, served as a warehouse for all the goods needed for mining operations. The historic walls today house a permanent exhibition that tells the stories of the people who worked in the mining industry.
In addition to the permanent exhibition and regularly changing special exhibitions, guided tours of the historic village centre of Steinhaus was also available.
