Rosa in the world
As a nine-year-old girl, Rosa Mittermair was already making lace at exhibitions with her mother Thekla. Even during her time at the Imperial and Royal lace making course, Rosa emerged as a particularly talented bobbin lace maker. Thanks to her unique talent, she was able to demonstrate her craft at various exhibitions all over the world: from London to Idria, where even Emperor Franz Josef is said to have been her enthusiastic spectator, from the Erzgebirge in Germany to Paris. Orders for her bobbin lace came from all over the world.
