Exhibition opening Schneeberg, 2019
The redesigned showroom was opened on 15 August 2019, the day of the church festival on the Schneeberg. In the morning, local geologist Volkmar Mair, chairman of the Mining Museum’s technical advisory board, led a group on a fascinating tour through the unique landscape with its extensive waste tips and architectural evidence of the mining industry high up in the mountains. In the afternoon, together with Christian Terzer, director of the Mining Museum, he opened the new permanent exhibition, housed in a former forge in the mining village.
