For centuries, bobbin lace has also enjoyed great popularity as decorative objects. They are made in various shapes and sizes: from tablecloths and table toppers to decorations for Christmas trees and windows to curtains and small doilies.

It took the skilled bobbin lace maker Aloisia Mairamhof about 65 hours to make a lace doily like this one with a diameter of 40 cm. It shows bats and numerous shaped strokes (star).
